Luxury in the heart of Bavaria

Discover breathtaking Chiemsee in Bavaria

Chiemsee is also known as the „Bavarian Sea“, and not without good reason. The biggest of the Bavarian lakes has an area of 80 square kilometres and is 64 kilometres all the way round. The picturesque lake lies in the middle of the foothills of the German Alps and directly between the cities of Munich and Salzburg. Beaches and sunbathing areas around the Chiemsee are just waiting for you to go swimming. In many places you can hire boats and spend delightful hours “at sea”.

At Chiemsee, you can also learn trendy sports, such as the Hawaiian sport of stand up paddling, also known as SUP, or you can go surfing. Passionate sailors can bring their boats to one of the many moorings. Take a trip over the Chiemsee in a steamship and enjoy the view of the beautiful surroundings from the water. The Chiemgau region also has a lot to offer away from the water. Cyclists can find their heart’s desire with more than 100 kilometres of cycling tracks. If you spontaneously decide to go cycling while you are here, you can find a number of places to hire a bike close to the holiday suites.

Nature lovers will have trouble choosing here. There are protected areas of countryside in this region, as well as various moors and shady woods. Hikers will find a variety of trails to suit every taste. Start slowly with an easier route or hike to one of the rustic Alpine huts, where you can get something to eat and drink. The Kampenwand and Wendelstein routes offer a sporting challenge. Climbers can choose from over 1000 fixed-rope climbing routes. And of course a proper Chiemsee holiday is not complete without its culinary delights.

In the towns of Aschau, Übersee, Prien, Bernau, Gstadt or Chieming, you will find many Bavarian and international restaurants. Here you can admire the beautiful sunsets over the Chiemsee. You can also find tasty regional specialities in the local bakeries and butchers’ shops. Try the fresh cheese from the Alpine farmers and taste their fresh milk.
